The rock-star Jon Bon Jovi once said “Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate.”
What are you passionate about? On the surface it seems like such a simple question, but it’s not.
If you are passionate, you are experiencing a feeling of intense enthusiasm toward or because of something. You see, when you are really good at something, you just go through the routine. We all went to school with kids who were effortlessly good at math or writing, who made straight A’s but couldn’t care less about their grades. Those sorts of people grasp concepts easily, or know the material very well, but they simply aren’t enthusiastic.
In simple terms, passion is when you put in more energy than is required to do it. Passion is ambition that is materialized into action, it is a strong desire that can get you to do amazing things. Without an action, passion yields no worthwhile results.
Passion is the fuel in the fire of action!
When you have passion for something, you love it even when you hate it. If you think about what you do for a living, sometimes it’s difficult or painful. Sometimes you might feel overwhelmed or overworked. But, if you are truly passionate about what you do, you will love it even on your worst days. It will drive you to do things that you wouldn’t normally do if you were simply good at them.
